E-platforms

My work as a professional teacher has given me a great opportunity to learn how to use different e-learning environments. The Corona pandemic of 2020 forced educational institutions to switch to distance education, in which case all study materials were transferred to online learning environments. In practice, all the study materials had to be redone, because all the study materials used were in book form, and there were no digital study materials in use. We use the workseed learning environment where all the material was transferred from the Moodle environment. We did the tasks in a self-checking format, so the teacher’s task was only to monitor the progress of the studies. The online learning platform can be used to progress and monitor students’ studies, regardless of whether the learning takes place in theory, in the workshop or at workplaces. Students can use the learning platform on mobile devices or computers regardless of time and place. Students record the exercises they have done on the platform and return them to the teacher for evaluation, the displays are documented and evaluated on the platform, and the program transfers the grades to the study card. In order to monitor on-the-job learning, students keep a diary in which they record the day’s tasks and the demonstrations that take place during the practical period. The teacher is able to evaluate completed tasks and exercises as well as the progress of the displays, as well as evaluate the displays that take place at workplaces based on the received documentation. Digital technology has changed teaching and teaching methods. The change has required the teaching staff to adopt technology as part of their work and the ability to maintain and develop their digital skills. The teaching staff’s digital competence is related to the ability to use it in teaching and to choose the most pedagogically suitable methods for teaching. In addition, the teaching staff is required to have the ability to use digital technology to support, guide and motivate students as their studies progress. The development of technological resources, network connections and digital learning environments changes education and learning to become more flexible, more interesting and versatile learning environments. From the teaching staff, this requires the ability to support the student pedagogically and technologically in studying in an online environment. The teacher’s digital competence refers to his ability to guide and support the student pedagogically for studying in an online learning environment. A teacher’s competence is the ability to teach a student digital competence and individualize teaching taking into account the needs of students of different levels, motivating and engaging students in studying in an online environment, and engaging the student himself to take responsibility for the progress of his studies. The teacher’s ability to produce high-quality study material and the ability to evaluate student performance in an online environment are also central to a teacher’s competence. The digital competence of teachers is emphasized with the development of various online learning platforms and learning environments. It is essential for teachers to be ”in tune with the times” for online learning environments that are constantly evolving.

Self- evaluation

It is a pleasure to notice how all kinds of applications have become more common, and how, for example, online stores have developed wildly in recent years. The teams meetings that became more common during the pandemic seemed completely pointless at first, but now it’s commonplace. Transactions in all kinds of online stores, even in a food store, can be done without the customer even visiting the entire store. There are various applications for teachers that make work easier, and instead of holding physical lectures and lessons, everything can be done from the comfort of your home via online applications. For my part, online learning environments have made it easier to monitor the progress of students’ studies, and physical lessons have become less frequent, but workshop teaching still has to be held physically.
